range of digital applications are used, managed and developed within the IT department.

In collaboration with other strategic units, our client aims to explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence

(AI) and implement it both within its applications and more broadly across the organization.

To support this ambition, our client is looking for an AI Business Architect within the IT department, with

proven experience in defining, supporting, and scaling an AI approach.

This role combines strategic vision, organizational maturity, and pragmatic implementation capability.

The mission focuses on embedding AI as a structural component of the organization, with strong attention to

governance, adoption, capability building, and tangible business value.

The assignment will be performed onsite at Brussels.

Mission & Responsibilities

1. AI Vision & Strategic Framework

• Contribute to defining and shaping a shared AI vision and strategy for our client.

• Translate strategic objectives into a realistic AI roadmap (short, medium, and long term).

• Ensure alignment with IT, management, and business stakeholders.

2. Governance, Policy & Risk Management

• Support the setup or refinement of AI governance (roles, responsibilities, decision structures).

• Advise on safe, ethical, and compliant use of AI (data management, security, tooling choices).

• Ensure alignment with existing IT and architectural principles.

3. Organization-Wide AI Adoption

• Identify relevant AI use cases across departments (administration, engineering, support, etc.).

• Support prioritization between quick wins and longer-term strategic initiatives.

• Facilitate AI awareness and maturity growth throughout the organization.

4. Enablement & Capability Building

• Support the development of internal AI capabilities (knowledge, skills, mindset).

• Train and coach key roles (e.g. IT leads, project managers, business owners).

• Advise on required roles and profiles in the short and medium term (e.g. AI Product Owner, data

profiles).

5. Practical Implementation Support

• Support proof-of-concepts and initial AI implementations.

• Advise on tools, platforms, and architectural choices (e.g. Copilot, internal AI environments,

integrations).

• Help structure experiments so they become scalable and reusable.

Profile & Requirements

Experience

• 10–14 years of relevant experience (Senior level).

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a strategic or leadership role within IT or digital

environments.

• Proven experience in AI strategy, AI adoption, or digital transformation.

• Experience working within complex organizations.

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills with a keen understanding of organizational context.

• Ability to make complex topics accessible to diverse audiences.

• Experience with the Microsoft ecosystem and AI-related technologies.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills at both strategic and operational levels.

• Strong stakeholder management and advisory capabilities.

Languages

Education

• Professional proficiency in Dutch, French, and English (required).

• Master’s degree or equivalent through experience (IT, engineering, or related field).
