Job Description

As a Senior Technical Mentor, you will join a dynamic software development organization operating

according to the Large Scale Scrum (LeSS) methodology, with a shared codebase across multiple product

teams.

Your mission is to improve the Developer Experience by promoting Technical Excellence across all

product development teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to improve automated build, testing, and deployment

processes.

• Improve and extend automated testing coverage, including:

o End-to-End (E2E) Testing

o Contract-Based Testing

o Component Testing

o Narrow Integration Testing

o Unit Testing

• Provide hands-on coaching to implement effective (A)TDD (Test-First Development) practices,

enabling incremental delivery while incorporating end-user feedback.

• Guide teams in adopting Trunk-Based Development (TBD), transitioning from traditional GitFlow

workflows with merge requests.

• Mentor teams on:

o Emergent Architecture

o Clean Architecture

o Hexagonal Architecture

o Microservices architecture and versioning strategies

• Teach and apply Clean Code principles including:

o SOLID

o DRY

o KISS

o Separation of Concerns (SoC)

o YAGNI

• Deliver mentorship primarily through real project work, supplemented by practical simulations

and Learning Katas.

• Ensure compliance with all organizational procedures throughout the assignment.

Technical Requirements

The ideal candidate should demonstrate extensive experience in software solution design and delivery,

including:

• Domain-Driven Design (DDD) – minimum 10 years

• Test-Driven Development (TDD) – minimum 10 years

• Trunk-Based Development (TBD) – minimum 10 years

• Contract Testing, Integration Testing, and Unit Testing – minimum 10 years

• Source Control Management using GitLab – minimum 10 years

• Java development with strong expertise in Java 21 – minimum 5 years

• Experience working in concurrent product development environments where analysis, coding,

and testing occur simultaneously rather than sequentially – minimum 10 years

• Experience with Mob Programming, Ensemble Programming, or Software Teaming – minimum 5

years

• Experience leading technical transformation toward Emergent Design and rapid feedback cycles

to improve software quality and multi-team collaboration – minimum 5 years

• Practical experience working in a Large Scale Scrum (LeSS) environment

• Strong knowledge of Clean Architecture, Clean Code, and Hexagonal Architecture – minimum 5

years

• Experience building executable test suites used as living documentation – minimum 5 years

• Fluent communication skills in both Dutch and French (C1 level).
