Introductie
We are looking for an experienced Senior SAS Developer / Consultant to strengthen a BI/DWH team.
The team is responsible for the development, maintenance and support of a large portfolio of SAS-based applications and data processing solutions supporting multiple public-sector organisations.
We are looking for a hands-on SAS professional who can quickly become productive within an existing application landscape and actively participate in development, testing, production support and optimisation.

The successful candidate will join an established team and contribute primarily to the maintenance and evolution of existing SAS applications, as well as the delivery of new ad hoc developments requested by customers.
Functie
• Analyse business and functional requirements in collaboration with analysts.
• Develop, test and maintain SAS Base applications and data processing programs.
• Contribute to the development, enhancement and optimisation of ETL processes.
• Perform unit testing and support integration testing activities.
• Ensure corrective and evolutionary maintenance of existing applications.
• Optimise the performance, reliability and maintainability of SAS programs and batch processes.
• Produce and maintain technical and functional documentation.
• Work closely with analysts, architects, data engineers and other developers within the team.

Required Profile
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in SAS development and Data Warehouse (DWH) environments.
• Strong expertise in SAS Base, including:
o DATA Step
o PROC SQL
o SAS Macro Language
o Advanced SAS programming techniques
• Experience working with various file formats such as Excel, XML, JSON and flat files.
• Experience integrating SAS with relational databases, particularly Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Good understanding of ETL concepts and data integration processes.
• Proven experience in analysing, maintaining and optimising existing SAS applications and programs.
• Ability to understand and implement complex business rules.
• Strong analytical skills, autonomy, problem-solving mindset and effective communication abilities.
